Converting Waste Heat Into Electricity

Filed under: technology — zEN @ 12:45 am

What’s your feeling when walking in a street that is crowded with cars,

or, what’s your feeling when your car is jamming on the road with a malfunctioned air-con,

freaking hot right?  This is a sort of heat pollution that causing the green house effect or global warming.

Therefore, this is a new way to control the heat pollution, by converting vehicle’s waste heat into energy.

Read here if you don’t understand my dummy’s explanation or you found out it is interesting.

Firstly, to directly convert the waste heat into electricity, you need to understand the thermoelectric effect,

which is the direct conversion of temperature differences to electricity.

By far, the researchers have developed a new thermoelectric material that can convert heat up to 510

celsius into electricity which is extremely efficiency than the best material that we know.

Therefore, this material is suitable to apply to vehicles and perform the waste heat to electricity conversion.

Make use of the waste heat to conserve the fuels expenses while reducing the heat pollution.
